Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 cup of unsalted butter
- 2 cups of granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs
- 1 1/2 cups of milk chocolate chips
- 2 cups of mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 cup of butter. Stir in 2 cups of sugar, 4 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
- Mix in 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 1 cup of flour, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs and milk chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the mini marshmallows over the top.
- Turn the oven to broil and place the pan back in the oven for 1-2 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares. Enjoy the gooey, chocolatey, s'mores brownies!
The S'mores Brownie is a delectable treat that combines the classic flavors of a campfire s'more with the rich, fudgy goodness of a brownie. This indulgent dessert has a fascinating history, with its origins dating back to the early 20th century. The exact creator of the S'mores Brownie is unknown, but it is believed to have been inspired by the traditional s'more, which has been a beloved campfire staple for generations. Today, the S'mores Brownie has become a popular dessert in many restaurants and bakeries across the United States, especially in regions known for their love of outdoor activities and camping, such as the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast. Chefs and bakers have put their own unique spin on this treat, incorporating high-quality chocolate, gooey marshmallows, and graham cracker crumbs to create the perfect balance of flavors and textures. One famous alternative method for making S'mores Brownies involves layering graham crackers on the bottom of the brownie batter before baking, then topping the baked brownies with marshmallows and chocolate pieces before broiling them to achieve that signature s'mores flavor. For those looking to experience the best version of this delectable dessert, seeking out a bakery or restaurant known for their exceptional brownies and s'mores creations is key. The most important elements to get right in a S'mores Brownie are the quality of the chocolate, the gooeyness of the marshmallows, and the perfect balance of sweetness and richness in the brownie base. Whether enjoyed at a cozy campfire or savored in a trendy urban eatery, the S'mores Brownie continues to delight dessert enthusiasts of all ages with its irresistible combination of nostalgia and indulgence.
