Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 lbs beef short ribs
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together 2 tbsp smoked paprika, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp onion powder, and 1 tsp cayenne pepper to create a dry rub.
- Season the beef short ribs with the dry rub, making sure to coat all sides evenly. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for 20 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- While the ribs are resting, preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) using your choice of wood chips for smoke flavor.
- Place the seasoned beef short ribs in the smoker and cook for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 203°F (95°C) and the meat is tender.
- In the meantime, prepare the spicy barbecue glaze by combining 1 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup honey, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste in a saucepan over medium heat. Let the glaze simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
- Once the beef short ribs are cooked, brush the spicy barbecue glaze over the ribs and let them cook for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
- Remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your spicy barbecue glazed smoked beef short ribs!
