Salted Caramel Brownie

Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter. Stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add 4 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and mix until smooth.
  • Sift in 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Drizzle 1/2 cup of salted caramel sauce over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top. Use a knife to swirl the caramel into the batter for a marbled effect.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
  • Remove the brownies from the oven and immediately sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.
  • Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy the gooey, fudgy, and indulgent salted caramel brownies!
