Ingredients
- 1 package of active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup of warm water
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar

- 1/2 cup of chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon of milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the package of active dry yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of melted unsalted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Add the yeast mixture to the large bowl and stir to combine.
- Gradually add in 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 12x8 inch rectangle.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of melted unsalted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- Spread the pecan mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the long side, and pinch the seam to seal.
- Cut the roll into 12 slices and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cover the dish with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Bake the pecan rolls for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm pecan rolls and serve.
