The pecan roll, a classic Southern confection, has a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. This sweet treat consists of a caramel-coated roll of pecans, often encased in a layer of fluffy, buttery dough. Originating in the Southern United States, particularly in regions like Louisiana and Georgia, the pecan roll has become a beloved staple of Southern cuisine. Notable chefs and restaurants, such as the renowned Brennan's in New Orleans, have perfected this indulgent dessert. To experience the best pecan roll, seek out establishments with a commitment to using high-quality pecans and crafting a delectably gooey caramel coating.
