  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/4 cup of sliced onions
  • 1/4 cup of sliced pickles

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of paprika to create the pink sauce. Set aside.
  • Divide the ground beef into 2 equal portions and form them into patties. Season with salt and pepper.

Patrick's Pink Patty Melt is a beloved classic with a twist, originating from a small diner in the heart of Texas. This iconic dish features a juicy beef patty, caramelized onions, and melted Swiss cheese, all sandwiched between two slices of pink-colored rye bread. The unique pink hue of the bread comes from a special blend of beet juice and traditional rye flour, giving the patty melt its signature look. This innovative creation quickly gained popularity, and now, it's a staple in diners across the country. For the best version of this dish, head to Texas, where chefs take pride in perfecting the balance of flavors and textures. The key to nailing this dish lies in the quality of the beef patty and the perfectly caramelized onions, which add a sweet and savory depth to each bite. While the traditional recipe is a fan favorite, some chefs have put their own spin on the patty melt, using alternative methods such as adding bacon or a special sauce to elevate the flavors. Whether you're a purist or open to creative variations, Patrick's Pink Patty Melt is a must-try for any food enthusiast.
