Pan-Seared Halibut with Citrus Butter Sauce
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 halibut fillets (6 ounces each)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Season the halibut fillets with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the halibut fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add 1/4 cup of fresh orange juice and 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Cook for 1-2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Reduce the heat to low and add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the skillet, stirring until melted and combined with the citrus juices.
- Return the halibut fillets to the skillet, spooning the citrus butter sauce over the top. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat the fillets through.
- Sprinkle the halibut with 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley before serving.
- Serve the pan-seared halibut with citrus butter sauce immediately, and enjoy!
