French

Palmier, also known as elephant ear or palm heart, is a classic French pastry with a history dating back to the 20th century. This flaky, crispy treat is made from puff pastry that is rolled in sugar, creating a caramelized, golden-brown exterior. The origins of the palmier are rooted in French patisseries, where skilled pastry chefs meticulously crafted these delicate pastries. Today, palmiers can be found in bakeries and cafes worldwide, but the best versions are often found in traditional French patisseries. The key to a perfect palmier lies in achieving the ideal balance of sweetness and crunch, making it a beloved indulgence for pastry enthusiasts.
