Instructions

  • Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  • Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and 4 chopped Thai bird's eye chilies, and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add 1 lb of thinly sliced beef and stir-fry until it is no longer pink.
  • Add 2 thinly sliced shallots and continue to stir-fry for another minute.
  • In a small bowl, mix together 2 tbsp of oyster sauce, 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of fish sauce, and 1 tsp of sugar.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and stir to combine.
  • Add 2 cups of holy basil leaves and 1/4 cup of chicken broth, and stir-fry until the basil is wilted.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately with steamed rice.
