Ingredients
- 2 New York strip steaks, 8 oz each
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 4 slices of crusty bread
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 cup arugula
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or grill pan to high heat.
- Rub the New York strip steaks with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of paprika.
- Grill the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- While the steaks are resting, toast the slices of crusty bread on the grill for 1-2 minutes per side until lightly charred.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice of bread.
- Slice the New York strip steaks thinly against the grain and divide the slices between the bread slices.
- Top the steak with arugula, tomato slices, and red onion slices.
- Close the sandwiches and serve immediately. Enjoy!
