Instructions

  • Preheat a grill or grill pan to high heat.
  • Rub the New York strip steaks with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of paprika.
  • Grill the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  • While the steaks are resting, toast the slices of crusty bread on the grill for 1-2 minutes per side until lightly charred.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice of bread.
  • Slice the New York strip steaks thinly against the grain and divide the slices between the bread slices.
  • Top the steak with arugula, tomato slices, and red onion slices.
