Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of softened butter and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually add 1 cup of all-purpose flour, mixing until well combined to form the crust mixture.
  • Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, beat 2 eggs with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the egg mixture, and mix well.
  • Stir in 1 1/2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped walnuts.
  • Spread the chocolate and nut mixture evenly over the baked crust.
  • Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
