Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of softened butter and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add 1 cup of all-purpose flour, mixing until well combined to form the crust mixture.
- Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, beat 2 eggs with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the egg mixture, and mix well.
- Stir in 1 1/2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped walnuts.
- Spread the chocolate and nut mixture evenly over the baked crust.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Allow the Neiman Marcus bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
