  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of tomato

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together 1 pound of ground beef, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape into burger patties.
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger patty during the last minute of grilling, allowing it to melt.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted hamburger bun. Place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on top of the mayonnaise. Place a burger patty on top of the tomato, and divide the sautéed mushrooms evenly among the burgers. Top with the other half of the hamburger bun.
  • Serve the Mushroom and Swiss Burgers immediately and enjoy!
