Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
- Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until lightly browned.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until tender. Set aside.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the sauce, followed by a burger patty, a slice of Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, tomato slices, and red onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
