Instructions

  • Preheat the grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
  • Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until tender. Set aside.
  • Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the sauce, followed by a burger patty, a slice of Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, tomato slices, and red onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
