Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup Memphis-style BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 hamburger buns
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt to create a dry rub.
- Rub the dry rub all over the pork shoulder, covering it evenly. Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
- In a separate bowl, mix the Memphis-style BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar. Pour the mixture over the pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
- Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the cooking juices.
- Toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on a grill until lightly golden.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing a generous amount of the BBQ pulled pork onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve the Memphis BBQ pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw, pickles, or additional BBQ sauce if desired. Enjoy!
