Meatloaf, a classic American comfort food, has a fiery history that's as bold as its flavor. Originating in the 5th century, the dish gained popularity in the US during the Great Depression. Renowned chefs like Julia Child and Emeril Lagasse have put their own spicy spin on this timeless recipe, incorporating cayenne pepper, jalapenos, and hot sauce to elevate its taste. The best versions of this dish can be found in the Southern states, where chefs infuse it with a blend of Cajun spices for an extra kick. To nail the perfect spicy meatloaf, it's crucial to use quality ground beef and a generous amount of spicy seasoning.
