Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  • Place the 4 large portobello mushroom caps in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Turn to coat, then cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, turning occasionally.
  • Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate or pan.
  • Remove the mushrooms from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
  • Grill the mushrooms for 5 minutes on each side, or until tender, basting with 2 tablespoons of olive oil while cooking.
