Mexican

The margarita is a classic cocktail with a storied history. Legend has it that it was first created in the 1930s by Carlos "Danny" Herrera at his Tijuana-area restaurant, Rancho La Gloria, for a showgirl named Marjorie King who was allergic to all spirits except tequila. The cocktail quickly gained popularity, and its fame spread beyond Mexico. Today, the best margaritas can be found in the birthplace of the drink, Tijuana, where skilled mixologists craft them with premium tequila, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur. The key to a perfect margarita lies in the quality of the ingredients and the balance of sweet and sour flavors. While the classic recipe calls for a salt-rimmed glass, some prefer it with a sugar rim or even blended with fresh fruits for a unique twist.
