  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 12x18 inch rectangle. Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces.
  • Place the dough pieces on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the maple bars for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Let them cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in the vanilla extract.
  • Using a piping bag, fill each maple bar with the vanilla cream filling.
