In the coastal regions of the Carolinas, Maryland, and Louisiana, live blue crabs are a beloved ingredient in iconic dishes such as crab boils, crab cakes, and crab soups. The process of catching live blue crabs, often using crab pots or traps, is deeply ingrained in the culture of these areas, with families and friends coming together for crabbing excursions and communal feasts.
