Italian

Linguine Alfredo is a classic Italian pasta dish featuring long, flat noodles coated in a rich, creamy sauce. The dish is believed to have been created by Alfredo di Lelio, an Italian restaurateur in Rome, who concocted the recipe in the early 20th century. The original version consisted of just three ingredients: pasta, butter, and Parmesan cheese. Today, variations may include heavy cream, garlic, and parsley. The best linguine alfredo can be found in Rome, particularly at the restaurant "Alfredo alla Scrofa," which still serves the original recipe. The key to a perfect linguine alfredo lies in using high-quality Parmesan cheese and achieving a silky, smooth sauce.
