Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups of water, 1 cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of dried culinary lavender. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let the lavender steep in the syrup for 10 minutes.
  • Strain the lavender-infused syrup into a bowl and discard the lavender. Stir in 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of lemon zest. Mix well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container and place it in the freezer. Every 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape and stir the mixture to break up any ice crystals. Repeat this process for about 3-4 hours, or until the sorbet is firm and scoopable.
  • Once the sorbet has reached the desired consistency, cover the container and keep it in the freezer until ready to serve. Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy the refreshing lavender lemonade sorbet!

Lavender Lemonade Sorbet is a delightful and refreshing dessert that combines the floral notes of lavender with the tartness of lemonade. This sorbet has a rich history, with origins in the South of France, where lavender fields are abundant. Renowned chefs like Julia Child have popularized this elegant treat, infusing it with a touch of sophistication. The best versions of this dish can be found in Provence, where the lavender is at its peak. The key to a perfect Lavender Lemonade Sorbet lies in using high-quality lavender and freshly squeezed lemons to achieve a harmonious balance of flavors. For a twist, some chefs incorporate a splash of sparkling water for added effervescence.
