Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons culinary lavender buds
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, mix together 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden.
- While the crust is baking, place the culinary lavender buds in a small food processor or spice grinder and pulse until finely ground.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, lemon juice, lemon zest, and ground lavender until well combined.
- Pour the lemon mixture over the hot crust. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares before serving.
