  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the Italian sausage links and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  • Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell peppers. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
  • While the vegetables are cooking, slice the hoagie rolls in half and toast them in a toaster or under the broiler until lightly golden.
  • Once the vegetables are done, remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the marinara sauce to the skillet and heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Return the sausage, onions, and peppers to the skillet, and stir to coat everything in the marinara sauce.
  • Place a slice of provolone cheese on each hoagie roll, then divide the sausage and vegetable mixture evenly among the rolls.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
