Ingredients
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 cup of whole milk
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the scraped vanilla bean and its seeds to the mixture. Stir in 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes.
- Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
