Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of honey, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl and pour half of the honey garlic mixture over them, tossing to coat evenly.
  • Arrange the chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, skin side up. Discard any remaining marinade from the bowl.
  • Bake the chicken thighs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  • While the chicken is baking, pour the remaining honey garlic mixture into a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens slightly.
  • Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and brush the glaze over the chicken thighs. Return the chicken to the oven and broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and bubbly.
  • Transfer the glazed chicken thighs to a serving platter, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, and serve hot. Enjoy!

Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Thighs have a rich history rooted in the fusion of sweet and savory flavors. This dish has its origins in Asian cuisine, where the combination of honey and garlic has been a staple for centuries. The succulent chicken thighs are marinated in a blend of honey, soy sauce, and garlic, then roasted to perfection. This dish has gained popularity in North America, where chefs have put their own spin on the recipe, adding their unique flair to the glaze. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in Asian-inspired restaurants and eateries that specialize in fusion cuisine. The key to getting this dish right lies in achieving the perfect balance of sweetness and umami, as well as ensuring the chicken thighs are tender and juicy.
