Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of ground hazelnuts and 1 cup of powdered sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, beat 2 egg whites and 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  • Gradually add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the hazelnut mixture and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the egg white mixture until well combined.
  • Using a spoon or a piping bag, drop small mounds of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the macaroons are set and lightly golden.
  • Allow the macaroons to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
