Grilled trout has a rich history dating back to ancient times, with evidence of trout being cooked over open flames by early civilizations. This delectable dish has evolved over the years, with various regions adding their own unique flavors and techniques. Renowned chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver have popularized grilled trout in modern cuisine, showcasing its versatility and delicate flavor. The best versions of this dish can be found in regions known for their fresh, cold-water trout, such as the Pacific Northwest in the United States and the Alpine regions of Europe. The key to a perfect grilled trout lies in using fresh, high-quality fish and mastering the art of grilling to achieve a crispy skin and tender, flaky flesh. For a twist, consider using a cedar plank for grilling to infuse the trout with a smoky aroma.
