Grilled Elk Steaks with Blackberry Glaze
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 elk steaks (6-8 ounces each)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup blackberry preserves
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Season the elk steaks with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of blackberry preserves, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon of Dijon mustard. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the preserves are melted and the glaze is smooth, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Place the seasoned elk steaks on the preheated grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness.
- During the last 2 minutes of grilling, brush the blackberry glaze onto the elk steaks, turning once to glaze both sides. Reserve some glaze for serving.
- Remove the elk steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle the reserved blackberry glaze over the grilled elk steaks before serving. Enjoy!
