Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 3/4 cup of packed brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the 2 eggs, one at a time, then gradually stir in the flour mixture.
- Stir in 2 cups of chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional).
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
