German

Glühbier, a warm and spiced beer, has a rich history dating back to medieval times in Germany. This traditional winter beverage is typically made by heating beer with a mix of spices like cinnamon, cloves, and orange peel. The addition of a splash of rum adds a delightful depth of flavor and warmth to the drink. In recent years, Glühbier has gained popularity in various regions, with chefs and breweries putting their own unique spin on the classic recipe. The best versions of this comforting drink can be found in cozy German beer gardens and Christmas markets, where it's often served alongside traditional German fare like pretzels and sausages. For those looking to recreate this festive drink at home, it's important to use a good quality beer and to let the spices infuse for the perfect balance of flavors. Cheers to a heartwarming glass of Glühbier with a hint of rum!
