Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Purple, blue, and black gel food coloring
  • Edible silver stars and glitter for decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 tablespoon of vanilla. Combine 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt; gradually mix into the batter. Stir in 1 cup of milk until the batter is smooth.
  • Divide the batter evenly into three separate bowls. Tint one bowl with purple food coloring, one with blue, and one with black, until you achieve the desired galaxy colors.
  • Pour the colored batters into the prepared cake pans, creating a galaxy effect by swirling the colors together with a toothpick or skewer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Once the cakes are completely cool, stack and frost them with your favorite frosting, then decorate with edible silver stars and glitter to resemble the beauty of the galaxy. Enjoy your stunning galaxy cake!
