Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter and 1 1/4 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into 3 equal parts and tint each part with a different food coloring (blue, purple, pink).
  • Roll out each colored dough into a thin layer and stack them on top of each other, then roll them together to create a marbled effect.
  • Using a cookie cutter, cut out shapes from the dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
