Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter. Stir in 2 cups of white sugar, 4 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gently fold in 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Do not overbake. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  • In a small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 1/4 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is simmering. Stir in 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
  • Remove the caramel from the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle the warm salted caramel over the cooled brownies. Allow the caramel to set before cutting the brownies into squares. Enjoy!
