- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a small round pizza crust, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce on each pizza crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle each pizza with 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese.
- In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and Italian breadcrumbs in the third.
- Dip each pizza into the flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally the breadcrumbs, making sure to coat both sides evenly.
- In a large skillet, heat 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- Carefully place the coated pizzas into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried pizzas from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
