Dog food has a rich history dating back to ancient times when dogs were fed scraps and leftovers. In the 1800s, commercial dog food emerged, providing a convenient option for pet owners. Over time, the focus shifted to enhancing the nutritional value of dog food, leading to the addition of probiotics. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that support digestive health in dogs, aiding in nutrient absorption and immune function. Today, many dog food brands incorporate probiotics into their recipes to promote overall well-being in pets. This addition has revolutionized the pet food industry, offering a holistic approach to canine nutrition.
