Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 8 ounces of dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise. Insert a popsicle stick into each banana half and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 8 ounces of dark chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  • Remove the frozen banana halves from the freezer. Working quickly, dip each banana half into the melted chocolate, using a spoon to help coat the banana evenly. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
  • If desired, sprinkle the chocolate-covered bananas with chopped nuts or sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
  • Place the chocolate-covered bananas back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and return them to the freezer for 10-15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
  • Once the chocolate is set, the dark chocolate covered bananas are ready to be enjoyed. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer.
