  • In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream 1/2 cup of softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in 2 eggs, one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Beat in the flour mixture alternately with 1/2 cup of whole milk, mixing just until incorporated.
  • Stir in 1/4 cup of cotton candy flavoring and a few drops of pink food coloring until the batter is evenly colored and flavored.
  • Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
