  • Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir to combine.
  • Add the flour and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon to create the cinnamon swirl mixture.
  • Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon swirl mixture on top. Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon swirl mixture over it.
  • Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and beat until creamy and smooth.
