American

Cinnamon sugar donuts have a rich history dating back to early American settlers who brought the tradition of frying dough from Europe. The combination of cinnamon and sugar became a popular topping for these delectable treats, creating a beloved classic. Today, these donuts are a staple in bakeries and coffee shops across the United States, with renowned chefs and local artisans putting their own spin on the recipe. The best versions of this dish can be found in iconic donut shops in cities like New York, Chicago, and Portland. The key to perfecting these donuts lies in achieving the ideal balance of fluffy dough, aromatic cinnamon, and sweet sugar coating. For a unique twist, some bakers infuse the dough with apple cider or pumpkin puree, adding a seasonal flair to this timeless indulgence.
