Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons apricot preserves
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a 10x14 inch rectangle and transfer it to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg.
- Arrange the apple slices on the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture over the apples and dot with the pieces of butter.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- In a small saucepan, heat the apricot preserves and water over low heat until melted. Brush the mixture over the warm tart for a glossy finish.
- Allow the tart to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
