Chicken Chow Mein

Ingredients
- 8 oz chow mein noodles
- 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, julienned
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together 3 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp hoisin sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp sugar, and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Add the remaining 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to the wok. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and julienned bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- Add the shredded cabbage and bean sprouts to the wok. Stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes.
- Return the cooked chicken to the wok. Add the cooked chow mein noodles and the prepared sauce. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
