Homemade Chocolate Pudding

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 3/4 cups whole milk
- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/4 cup cornstarch, and 1/8 teaspoon salt.
- Gradually whisk in 2 3/4 cups whole milk until smooth.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in 4 ounces of chopped semisweet chocolate and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes and press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until chilled and set.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
