The history of chocolate chip cookie mix dates back to 1930 when Ruth Wakefield, owner of the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts, added chopped chocolate to her cookie dough, creating the first-ever chocolate chip cookie. The recipe gained popularity and Nestle began producing chocolate chips, with the recipe printed on the package. Today, chocolate chip cookie mix is a staple in households worldwide, offering a convenient way to enjoy the classic treat. Chefs and home bakers alike have put their own spin on the mix, adding nuts, sea salt, or even using it as a base for cookie bars. For the best version, look for mixes with high-quality chocolate chips and natural ingredients.
