Chocolate Caramel Brownie with Sea Salt

Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top, spreading it to cover the caramel.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
  • Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the sea salt flakes over the top of the brownies while they are still hot.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before using the parchment paper to lift them out and transfer to a cutting board. Cut into squares and serve.
