Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter. Stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add 4 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, and mix until smooth.
  • Sift in 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Stir until just combined.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then drizzle 1 cup of caramel sauce over the batter. Top with the remaining batter and use a knife to swirl the caramel into the batter.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips over the top of the brownie batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, but not wet batter.
