  • 2 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions

  • Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  • Preheat the oven to 175°F (80°C).
  • Place the marinated chicken strips on a wire rack set over a baking sheet, making sure they are not touching each other.
  • Bake the chicken strips for 2-3 hours, or until they are dried and firm, but still chewy. Check on them occasionally and flip the strips halfway through the cooking time.
  • Once done, allow the chicken jerky to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Enjoy as a healthy snack!

Chicken jerky has a rich history dating back to ancient civilizations, where it was used as a way to preserve meat for long periods of time. This savory snack has evolved over the years, with different regions and cultures adding their own unique flavors and techniques. In recent years, chefs and food enthusiasts have popularized chicken jerky as a healthy and convenient protein-packed snack. Today, the best chicken jerky can be found in artisanal shops and specialty food stores, where it is often made with high-quality, all-natural ingredients and carefully seasoned to perfection. The key to great chicken jerky lies in the marination process and the slow, low-temperature drying method, which ensures a tender and flavorful result. Whether you prefer traditional flavors or bold, modern twists, chicken jerky continues to be a beloved snack enjoyed by people all over the world.
