Homemade Cheez-It Crackers

Ingredients
- 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons of ice water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder.
- Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour to the cheese mixture and mix until crumbly.
- Add 2 tablespoons of ice water to the mixture and knead until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut the dough into 1-inch squares.
- Transfer the squares to the prepared baking sheet and poke a hole in the center of each square with a toothpick.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the crackers to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, store the homemade Cheez-It crackers in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
