Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  • Place the burger patties on the grill or griddle and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  • While the patties are cooking, cook the bacon in a separate pan until crispy.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, followed by ketchup.
  • Place a cooked burger patty on each bottom bun, then top with 2 slices of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
  • Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
