  • Once the sugar is dissolved, stop stirring and let the mixture come to a boil. Continue to cook until the mixture turns a deep amber color, swirling the pan occasionally to ensure even cooking. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  • Carefully and slowly pour in 1/2 cup of heavy cream while whisking constantly. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble up. Once the cream is fully incorporated, add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  • Transfer the caramel fondue to a fondue pot or a heatproof serving bowl.
  • Serve with an assortment of dippable treats such as sliced fruits, marshmallows, pretzels, and pound cake.
