Ingredients
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cookies are completely cooled, drizzle 1/2 cup of caramel sauce over the top of each cookie. Allow the caramel to set before serving.
