Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons of milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 1/4 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- In a large bowl, cream 1 cup of softened butter and 3/4 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 egg yolk.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Add 2 tablespoons of milk and mix until the dough comes together.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball with a fork, making a crisscross pattern.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
